Cigar box and dusty dark chocolate, together with some dark currants and ripe cherries. A fresh, full-bodied cabernet sauvignon, showing structured tannins in a fine-grained mode. Meaty cassis fruit with tapenade, cocoa powder and an earthy, savory edge. Some sweet tobacco, too. Very creamy tannins work in tandem with the juicy fruit. Long and polished, yet structured. Vibrant moderately saturated ruby. Blueberry, raspberry, white pepper and aromatic wood on the knockout nose. Very smooth in the mouth, with refined flavors of small red berries and peppery spices. The highly polished tannins provide more than adequate spine for the ripe fruit nuances that linger impressively on the aftertaste. A lovely wine that does not rely on the oak to showcase its quality, and is completely devoid of and green edges. Offers building complexity and the potential to age. Nicely done.
